'The Lost City' put all the good stuff in the trailer
Kudos to the Paramount marketing department, because every good scene in "The Lost City" can be found in the preview trailer, and it's pretty slim pickings beyond that. A romantic-comedy/action vehicle for Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum, the movie's throwback feel is breezy but barely enough to justify "Lost" being found.

'Pachinko' offers a sweeping family saga that earns your tears
With the sweep of a historical epic and a format that focuses on one family across decades, "Pachinko" evokes memories of other ambitious TV sagas, perhaps foremost "Roots." Deeply emotional, this eight-episode Apple TV+ series barely scratches the surface of the novel upon which it's based, and will surely leave a core audience clamoring for more.

'Bridgerton' turns the page to a new season of gossip-worthy romance
After causing a sensation with its (somewhat overrated) first season, "Bridgerton" returns, faced with the task of polishing a new diamond and mounting another grand romance. Deprived the company of the Duke (with Regé-Jean Page having opted to move on), the series remains frothy and watchable, if perhaps a bit less Lady Whistledown-worthy in this latest iteration.

'Halo' turns the game into a series
"Halo" isn't the first videogame to become a movie or TV show, and it certainly won't be the last. But the series faces a formidable challenge crafting a Paramount+ show around the contours of the game, one that it seeks to master largely by slapping together pieces of established properties -- a little "RoboCop" here, a bit of "Starship Troopers" there, and a whole lot of "The Mandalorian."
