National Geographic journeys 'Inside North Korea's Dynasty'
North Korea has become a focal point of US foreign-policy discussions, but having been called a "hermit kingdom," one suspects many Americans know relatively little about the reigning family's brutal history -- or how that came to be. Given that, National Geographic Channel's "Inside North Korea's Dynasty" feels like a timely public service, pulling back the curtain on "the story of the Kims, a family of dictators."

'SALLY4EVER,' 'The Bisexual' feature women coming to grips with sexuality
Sexuality can be fluid and confounding, which is the backbone of two very different but complementary series premiering in the next week, each dealing with a woman coming to grips with who she is as an adult. 'Overlord' stirs up World War II horror cocktail
"Overlord" is a decided throwback -- an old-fashioned "B" movie cocktail, mashing together a perilous World War II mission, horror and science fiction, against the historical backdrop of saving D-Day. On the most basic level, it works as an action vehicle, even if the bare-bones plot lacks the ingenuity to sustain its promising start down the stretch.

Claire Foy spins into action
As reboots go, "The Girl in the Spider's Web" features several notable upgrades, including Claire Foy as its star, and a revamp of its central character from an eccentric hacker into an almost-Batman-like vigilante. The result is a slick thriller that trades in some of the moody atmosphere that draped earlier versions for a more straightforward action vehicle.
